The world’s fastest open source bare-metal server provisioning tool, for large-scale infrastructure - turning your racks into a physical cloud. I worked on the GUI of the application providing design solutions for complex information architecture, guiding users through set up with a clean and understandable workflow.
The design team were tasked in making MAAS accessible. Firstly, we needed to reference WCAG 2.0 accessible guidelines and understand the four principles of accessibility: Perceivable, Operable, Understandable and Robust. This then enabled us to determine design goals from these principles to achieve Level A. Another great resource was WebAIM which acted as a guide to define and document improvements and solutions.
The appliation reused components and patterns, so I decided to create a mothership containing elements needed to design fast visual explorations.
We want users to be able to easily configure MAAS for the first time before starting to use it, firstly it will benefit the enterprise users when they have acquired MAAS and they are setting it up to manage their company’s infrastructure.
A feature that provides tests that checks your data centre health at a glance and easily identify faulty components, ability to get up to date information about their health, capture metrics and understand your hardware's performance.
